TURLOCK, CA, March 6, 2004 - Morris Newspaper Corporation of California has purchased the Turlock Journal from Pacific-Sierra Publishing Co., Inc. The sale was announced by Charles Morris, president of Morris Newspaper Corporation. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Dirks, Van Essen & Murray, a newspaper merger-and-acquisition firm located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, represented Pacific-Sierra Publishing in the transaction.
The Turlock Journal has a daily circulation of 6,000. In addition to the Journal, Morris owns and operates a cluster of newspapers in the Central Valley including the daily Manteca Bulletin, and weeklies in Ceres, Oakdale, Escalon and Riverbank.
