Stephens Media Group Acquires Three Publications from Wick CommunicationsBack to News
LAS VEGAS, NV, March 10, 2005 – Stephens Media Group today announced the acquisition of three Nevada newspapers from Wick Communications Co. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Dirks, Van Essen & Murray, a newspaper merger-and-acquisition firm in Santa Fe, New Mexico, represented Wick Communications in the transaction.
“We are pleased to welcome CityLife, the Las Vegas Business Press and Las Vegas Senior Press to the Stephens Media Group family,” Sherman Frederick, chief executive officer of Stephens Media, noted in making the announcement.
CityLife is an alternative weekly serving the Las Vegas market with circulation of 72,000. Las Vegas Business Press has weekly circulation of 9,000 (5,000 paid). Las Vegas Senior Press is a monthly publication with 40,000 circulation. No changes are planned in the editorial focus or operation of the newspapers. “These papers will be an important part of our continuing growth in Nevada,” Frederick said.
