Rhode Island Suburban Newspapers, Inc. Buys Yuma (AZ) Sun and Porterville (CA) RecorderBack to News

Yuma, AZ – May 1, 2013 – Roland McBride, Executive Vice President of Rhode Island Suburban Newspapers, Inc., announced today the purchase of the Yuma (AZ) Sun and Porterville (CA) Recorder from Freedom Communications Inc.

Dirks, Van Essen & Murray, a newspaper merger and acquisition firm in Santa Fe, New Mexico, represented Freedom Communications in the transaction.  Terms were not disclosed.

McBride said, “The Yuma Sun and the Porterville Recorder are newspaper organizations with longstanding reputations for quality service to their respective communities.  We are very pleased to have the opportunity to continue that service, and look forward to participating in their continued success in the dynamic news gathering and dissemination industry.”
