Sale of Lehman Communications to MediaNews Group Subsidiary is FinalizedBack to News
LONGMONT, CO, February 15, 2011 – The sale of Lehman Communications Corp., which publishes the Longmont Times-Call, the Loveland Reporter-Herald, the Cañon City Daily Record, Colorado Hometown Weekly and several other publications, has been finalized. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Dirks, Van Essen & Murray, a newspaper merger and acquisition firm in Santa Fe, New Mexico, represented Lehman Communications in the transaction.
Prairie Mountain Publishing, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, which owns the Boulder Camera, Colorado Daily and other publications throughout the state, closed Tuesday on its purchase of the assets of Lehman Communications, which has owned Longmont’s daily newspaper since Feb. 1, 1957, when Ed and Ruth Lehman bought it.
Prairie Mountain Publishing Company publishes all of MediaNews Group’s newspapers located in Colorado other than The Denver Post. The Group includes the Boulder Daily Camera, Sterling Journal-Advocate, Fort Morgan Times, Colorado Daily and nine weekly publications.
