San Marcos (TX) Daily Record Acquired by Local Newspaper GroupBack to News


Montgomery, Alabama – December 28, 2012 – Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. today announced the sale of the San Marcos (TX) Daily Record to San Marcos Publishing LP, managed by veteran newspaper executive Jim Moser.

Dirks, Van Essen & Murray, a newspaper merger and acquisition firm in Santa Fe, New Mexico, represented Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. in the transaction.  Terms were not disclosed.

Published since 1912, the Record serves readers in San Marcos and Hays County, Texas.  The Record publishes five times a week and also produces a local news website, www.sanmarcosrecord.com.

Moser, the managing member of San Marcos Publishing LP, said he looks forward to becoming involved in San Marcos.  Moser is a veteran newspaper executive who also serves as president of his family’s company, Moser Community Media, which manages newspapers in central and south central Texas.
